In order to qualify to have your criminal history record sealed or expunged, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) conducts criminal history record checks in Florida using the Florida Crime Information Center (FCIC) database. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) conducts criminal history record checks nationally using the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database. Finally, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) conducts traffic record checks using the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) database. All these databases must be checked before a person can have their criminal history record sealed or expunged.
